New Features

  1. A feature was added to allow Remote Management from a list of up to ten discrete IP addresses (but just one at a time). Go to the Remote Management page under Advanced and click on IP Address List.
  2. ADSL2 has been added to the ADSL Settings page DSL mode drop down list.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed problems with DSL autodetection in Singapore.and Spain.
  2. Fixed a problem where attached devices didn't show up in the Attached Devices list.
  3. Fixed a problem where checking the "Disable SIP ALG" checkbox would not "stick" after being applied.
  4. Fixed a problem with Address Reservation on the LAN IP Setup page.
  5. Updated and corrected Wireless Distribution System (WDS) Help on Advanced Wireless Settings page.
  6. Fixed a problem where Wireless Distribution System (WDS) did not work between a DG834Gv3 acting as the access point and a DG834Gv4 as the wireless extender.
  7. Fixed a problem where PPTP Client encapsulation on the Basic Settings page did not work.
  8. Fixed a problem where if WEP wireless security was used other settings on the Wireless Settings page couldn't be modified when using the French or German router management interface.
  9. Fixed an issue where firewall rules could not be disabled/enabled in the router management interface when using English.
  10. Fixed an issue with wireless channel range when using the router management interface when using German.
  11. Fixed an issue where in some cases VPN connections could not be properly established.
  12. Fixed an issue where the router could hang under severe stress testing.
  13. Fixed an issue where browsing shares across a VPN (for example:\\192.168.1.2\sharename) would fail.

Installation Instructions

  1. To reach the Upgrade menu, click Router Upgrade from the Maintenance section.
  2. Download and save the file to a convenient place such as your desktop.

  3. Using a browser, login to the router (the default URL is http://192.168.0.1). The user name is admin, and the default password is password.
  4. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.

  5. Click Browse and locate the file which you just unzipped.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Wait for the upgrade progress bar to complete and final prompt to appear.

For problems after upgrading

  1. Write down all the configuration information which you preveious entered manually. These typically include information from your ISP and security settings.
  2. Clear the configuration by pressing the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel for 10 seconds, until the Test LED blinks.
  3. Reenter your configuration information manually.
