  • This firmware is only for DG834v3 and DG834Gv3. Do not use on any other DG834 product!
  • This version is not for North American (NA) Models.

Modifications / Bug Fixes

  1. A feature was added to allow Remote Management from a list of up to ten discrete IP addresses (but just one at a time). Go to the Remote Management page under Advanced and click on IP Address List.
  2. Updated the DSL driver to improve interoperability.
  3. Fixed a problem on the Router Status>Show Statistics page where a negative noise margin would be incorrectly displayed as a large positive number.
  4. Fixed an issue where email received from the router had a date one month in advance of the actual date.
  5. Fixed a problem where DSL autodetection would fail in Singapore.
  6. Fixed a problem where the router could not connect wirelessly to PS3 using WPA-PSK.
  7. Fixed a problem where UPnP would fail testing with Vista.
  8. Updated Wireless Distribution System (WDS) Help.
  9. Fixed a problem where an Advanced Wireless Settings page showed up in the router management interface for the wired version (DG834v3)

Installation Instructions

You may need to reenter any configuration information you changed at some time in the past. Make sure you have a record of information such as ISP connection parameters and security settings.

  1. To reach the Upgrade menu, click Router Upgrade from the Maintenance section.
  2. Download and unzip the file to a convenient place such as your desktop.

    Choose the correct firmware for your location:

    Version 4.01.37 (not for users in North America)

    3.43 MB  

  3. Using a browser, login to the router (the default URL is http://192.168.0.1). The user name is admin, and the default password is password.
  4. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.

  5. Click Browse and locate the file which you just unzipped.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Wait for the upgrade progress bar to complete and final prompt to appear.

For problems after upgrading

  1. Write down all the configuration information which you preveious entered manually. These typically include information from your ISP and security settings.
  2. Clear the configuration by pressing the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel for 10 seconds, until the Test LED blinks.
  3. Reenter your configuration information manually.
