  • This firmware is only for DG834v4 or DG834Gv4. Do not use on any other DG834 product!

New features and modifications:

  1. Initial release firmware for North America users.
  2. Default time zone set to GMT-8 (Pacific Time).
  3. ADSL default settings changed to: VPI: 8,VCI: 35, Multiplexing Method: LLC-based, Encapsulation: PPPoE, Idle timeout: 0, MTU: 1492.

Installation Instructions

  1. To reach the Upgrade menu, click Router Upgrade from the Maintenance section.
  2. Download and unzip the file to a convenient place such as your desktop.
    Note: This firmware version is for users in North America only.

  3. Using a browser, login to the router (the default URL is http://192.168.0.1). The user name is admin, and the default password is password.
  4. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.

  5. Click Browse and locate the file which you just unzipped.
  6. Click Upload.
  7. Wait for the upgrade progress bar to complete and final prompt to appear.

For problems after upgrading

  1. Write down all the configuration information which you preveious entered manually. These typically include information from your ISP and security settings.
  2. Clear the configuration by pressing the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel for 10 seconds, until the Test LED blinks.
  3. Reenter your configuration information manually.
