I. Overview

This describes features and bug fixes in the FVS124G Release Version 1.1.38 software added since Release Version 1.1.33.

    1. Changed the default Idle timeout to “Idle time 5 minutes” when ISP login is required.

    Note: FVS124G is SIP compliant. It has been tested with Vonage and AOL in North America, Sipgate and Blueface in Europe and UK.

  4. Fixed email authentication problem with some mail servers.

  1. DynDNS password now accepts additional special characters.
  2. Restoring configuration file will now automatically trigger reboot.
  3. Fixed: WAN Options Uplink Bandwidth setting lost after reboot.
  4. Fixed: Custom Services priority settings lost after reboot.
  5. Custom Service should not be deleted if it is in use in the rules or protocol binding.

   Version 1.1.23

  1. Fixed: cannot ping to this router's LAN IP address from remote PC over VPN tunnel.

IV. Known Issues

  1. Before enabling TrendMicro antivirus enforcement, be sure to set the correct port numbers for the C/S/M server, or router may hang.
  2. VPN client can't connect using Virtual Address. Should disable and set to 0.0.0.0.
  3. Remote management user can not backup configuration via Internet Explorer. It works with other browser.

V. To Upgrade

Before upgrading, write down all the configuration information you changed from the defaults. You may need to reenter them later.

  1. Download a convenient place such as your desktop.

  2. Using a browser, login to the router as admin.
  3. Under Management, click Router Upgrade.
  4. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file you just downloaded fvs124g_1_1_38.img.
  5. Click Upload.
  6. Wait for the router to reboot and the TEST LED to turn off.
  7. Power the router off.
  8. Power the router back on again.

    For problems after upgrading, clear the configuration, using the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel, or the Erase button in the Backup Settings menu. Then reenter your configuration information manually.
