WN311B Initial Release Firmware Version 1.1

WNR854T users must upgrade the firmware to version 1.2.15 (available here) to maintain interoperability in 802.11n mode.

Bug Fixes

1. Added option to connect at 130Mbps in adhoc mode to the Settings Page.
2. "Internet Conection" function is disabled when Europe domain is selected.
3. System tray icon not turns yellow when signal strength is poor.
4. "Networks" page detects the correct type (802.11b/802.11g) of AP and SSID.
5. "Fragmentation Threshold" option can not be modified from the advanced settings page.
6. Increased the frequency of wireless scan on the "Networks" page when the scan button is clicked.
7. Utility displays the correct channel when connecting to an AP operating in channel 12 or 13.

Installation

1. Download and unzip the file to a convenient location such as your desktop.

2. Shut down your computer.
3. Unplug your computer from the wall,
4. Open your computer case.
5. Ground yourself on an outside metal part of the computer, such as a flat surface on the back.
6. Taking care only to touch the silver mounting bracket on the end, remove the adapter from your computer.
7. Replace the computer case.
8. Plug the computer in.
9. Power up the computer and wait for it to reboot.
10. Select Start > All Programs. Then select the card, then Uninstall
11. Click Next
12. Run wn311b_setup_1_1.exe that you just downloaded.
13. Select the Country Domain, click Next
14. Click OK at the Country Domain Selection warning.
15. Click Yes to the License Agreement.
16. Click Finish
17. Completely power down your computer.
18. Unplug your computer from the wall.
19. Open your computer case.
20. Ground yourself on an outside metal part of the computer, such as a flat surface on the back.
21. Taking care only to touch the silver mounting bracket and the top of the adapter, place the adapter securely into your computer.
22. Replace the computer case.
23. Power up the computer and wait for it to reboot.
24. Click Next to start the Found New Hardware Wizard.
25. Click Finish when Found New Hardware Wizard is completed.
