Fixes and Enhancements

  1. Client now gets proper response to site survey.
  2. The Utility now displays "statistics page" for hours without crashing.
  3. Site Survey doesn't fail when associating to access point.
  4. Client gets IP address more quickly.
  5. There's now an option to disable the "internet connection"
  6. The client might half when doing the site survey function. In the meanwhile, the resource will be increased.
  7. The client shows correct WPA security in mixed mode (WPA/WPA2).
  8. The utility might crash when doing the site survey
  9. Available access points are shown more reliably.
  10. WZC can now associate to router.
  11. Improvements to GUI fonts.
  12. Adds the A-MPDU aggregation setting in Advanced page.

Known Issue

  1. Therer is no MSDU aggregation setting in the Advanced page.

To Install

Note: It's easy to damage exposed electrical parts. The damage might be hidden. It may take several shocks for serious problems to show. Avoid touching metal connection pins, and the exposed electrical circuits on the card's surface. The silver end mounting bracket is insulated, so it may be handled.

  1. Download using the button below to a convenient place such as your desktop.

  2. If the adapter is already installed in your computer:

    1. Turn off your computer.
    2. Ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface on the outside back of the computer case. Click for information about grounding.
    3. Unplug the power cord.
    4. Open the computer case.
    5. Remove the WN311T adapter card from its slot. Note which slot it is in, because you'll want to use the same slot to reinsert the card, later.
    6. Replace the computer case.
    7. Plug in the power cord.
    8. Turn the computer on, and let it reboot completely.

  3. Run the wn311t_1_1_setup.exe file that you just downloaded.
  4. Select Uninstall, click Next
  5. Run the wn311t_1_1_setup.exe file again.
  6. Select your Country Domain, click Next.
  7. Click OK to the Country Domain Selection warning.
  8. Click Yes to the License Agreement.
  9. Click Finish
  10. Turn off your computer.
  11. Ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface on the outside back of the computer case.
  12. Unplug the power cord.
  13. Open the computer case.
  14. Place the WN311T adapter card firmly a slot. If it was previously installed, use the same slot again.
  15. Replace the computer case.
  16. Plug in the power cord.
  17. Turn the computer on, and let it reboot completely.
  18. Click Next to start the Found New Hardware Wizard.
  19. Click Finish when Found New Hardware Wizard is completed.
  20. Close the installation program.
  21. Using the WN311T utility in Start > Programs to monitor signal strength, you'll be able to see where the signal to adapter is strongest.
