Note: Do not upgrade the firmware using a wireless connection. Please perform firmware upgrade with “wired” or Ethernet connection only.

Enhancements and Fixes

  1. Improves wireless performance.
  2. Fixes slow response on router HTTP pages.
  3. Improves the problem when wired computers can’t ping the router after switching the Ethernet connection from another router.
  4. Fixes that the client adapter is able to connect to the router using old security settings.
  5. Reduces the time to detect a new DCHP server.
  6. Reduces the time to establish a PPPoE connection after router firmware upgrade.
  7. Fixes WG511 client adapter not being able to connect to the router.
  8. Fixes client adapter not being able to display www.google.com.
  9. Fixes that DynDNS was not always updating.
  10. Fixes the cancel buttom during the auto upgrade. It now correctly terminates the auto upgrade.
  11. Fixes incorrect DOS message on the router log. The excessive DOS messages might have impacted router performance.

Known Issues

  1. There is a long delay when changing wireless settings. The program bar will indicate when the changes are made.
  2. If the LAN IP address of the router is changed from the default value, then the logon URL link: www.routerlogin.com does not work. Use the router IP address as the URL link to logon to the router management page. For example, if the router’s LAN IP address is 192.168.4.1 then on the web browser, type http://192.168.4.1 to enter the router management page.

To Upgrade

  1. Write down all the settings which you changed from the default values, since you may need to reenter them manually.
  2. Download using the button below, saving to a convenient place such as your desktop.

    Note: Do not upgrade the firmware using a wireless connection. Please perform firmware upgrade with “wired” or Ethernet connection only.

  3. Open a browser and access the router using http://www.routerlogin.net
  4. Log in to the router. The User Name = admin. The Password = password unless you changed it.
  5. Click Maintenance > Router Upgrade
  6. Click Browse and find the upgrade file you just downloaded.
  7. Click Upload
    Do NOT power off the computer until the upgrade process is completed. Wait for the router to reboot.
  8. After the router boots up, log in the router again.
    You MUST Reset the router to default settings after upgrading the firmware
  9. Click Maintenance > Backup Settings
  10. Click Erase. The router reboots when the Erase operation is done.
  11. If you would like to check that the upgrade was successful, log in to the router again at http://192.168.1.1, and check the firmware version.
  12. Re-configure the router with the settings you saved in step 1. Optionally, You can use the Smart Wizard configuration assistant on the CD to reconfigure the router.
