Known Issues
1. Incorrectly reports (slower) 802.11b access points as being 802.11g.
2. When using channel 12 or 13, the status shows as channel 2 or 3.
3. In the transmission power (TX) on the advanced page doesn't match the
value on the driver property page in some situations.
Installation
- Download and unzip the file to a convenient location such as your
desktop.

- Shut down your computer.
- Unplug your computer from the wall,
- Open your computer case.
- Ground yourself on an outside metal part of the computer, such as
a flat surface on the back.
- Taking care only to touch the silver mounting bracket on the end,
remove the adapter from your computer.
- Replace the computer case.
- Plug the computer in.
- Power up the computer and wait for it to reboot.
- Select Start > All Programs. Then select the
card, then Uninstall
- Click Next
- Run WN311B_setup_V1.0.exe from the unzipped file
that you just downloaded.
- Select the Country Domain, click Next
- Click OK at the Country Domain Selection warning.
- Click Yes to the License Agreement.
- Click Finish
- Completely power down your computer.
- Unplug your computer from the wall.
- Open your computer case.
- Ground yourself on an outside metal part of the computer, such as
a flat surface on the back.
- Taking care only to touch the silver mounting bracket and the top
of the adapter, place the adapter securely into your computer.
- Replace the computer case.
- Power up the computer and wait for it to reboot.
- Click Next to start the Found New Hardware Wizard.
- Click Finish when Found New Hardware Wizard is completed.
