Known Problems

The WEB GUI may display incorrect default configuration parameters after the F/W upgrade. It is recommended to use TFTP to perform F/W upgrade to ensure a clean start.

  • You can upgrade using the Web Browser or using TFTP (below).

To Upgrade with Web Browser

1. Download using the button below, and unzip to a convenient place such as your desktop.

3.85 MB

2. Log in the Web admininstation interface by entering http://192.168.0.230 in your browser.
3. Click Management > Upgrade Firmware.
4. Click Browse and locate the .rmt file that you saved in Step 1.
5. Click Upgrade.

Upgrade using TFTP

1. Configure the IP address of your PC to 192.168.0.36
2. If you do not have a TFTP server on your PC, install one now. (These are available, free, from such places as Solarwinds. You may download the software from http://support.solarwinds.net/updates/New-customerFree.)
3. Copy the WAG302 firmware image into the TFTP Root directory, such as c:\TFTP-Root.
4. Rename the image to wag302.rmt
5. Connect your PC and the WAG302 access point directly with a CAT5 Ethernet cable.
6. Start the TFTP server. (An example, showing Solarwinds start-up window, appears below.)

7. Disconnect the power cord from access point.
8. Press and hold the reset button on access point. Plug in the power while holding the reset button. Wait 20 seconds before releasing the button.

The TFTP server automatically transfers the firmware to the WAG302.

The access point automatically reboots after the successful TFTP transaction.
