I. Overview

This describes features and bug fixes in the FVS124G Release Version 1.1.30 software added since Release Version 1.1.9.
Released January 12, 2006.

II. New Features

   Version 1.1.30

Trend Micro Antivirus Enforcement
When your LAN is protected by Trend Micro™ Client/Server/Messaging Suite for SMB, you can configure the firewall to block Web access by LAN PCs that do not have the Trend Micro client installed, or do not have the most recent updates. There is a Trend Micro menu under the Advanced section of the configuration manager.

Telnet enabled

Telnet access to the router's command line interface is enabled. Note that the command line interface is not documented and technical support is limited. To access the router's command line interface using Telnet, log in and type Cli at the prompt. Note the capitalization — this is case sensitive.

1. Fixed static routing.
2. Can now use the ping tool in Diagnostics to test VPN.
3. Can switch back to Default NTP Server.
4. Fixed email authentication problem with some mail servers.
5. Fixed PPPoE MTU default value.
6. Increased time range of https certificate.
7. Fixed Send Log button (only sends items not sent already).
8. Improved log emails.
9. On the statistics page, Tx/ps and Rx/ps show correct rate.
10. IKE FQDN can now accept up to 64 characters.
11. SNMP agent returns the wrong sysObjectIDs for ProSafe firewalls.
12. Fixed SNMP system info edits are lost after reboot.
13. Removed PFS group 5 in mode config.
14. Fixed editing of Protocol Binding.
15. Allows classical routing with PPPoE.
16. Attempt to access blocked site is now logged.
17. ISP Login box now displays all 64 characters.

   Version 1.1.24

1. DynDNS password now accepts additional special characters.
2. Restoring configuration file will now automatically trigger reboot.
3. Fixed: WAN Options Uplink Bandwidth setting lost after reboot.
4. Fixed: Custom Services priority settings lost after reboot.
5. Custom Service should not be deleted if it is in use in the rules or protocol binding.

   Version 1.1.23

1. Fixed: cannot ping to this router's LAN IP address from remote PC over VPN tunnel.
2. Fixed MTU size setting problems.
3. Fixed problems with some VoIP adapters.
4. ISP login name now accepts at least 60 characters.
5. Fixed memory leak and driver issue causing router lockups.

IV. Known Issues

1. Before enabling TrendMicro antivirus enforcement, be sure to set the correct port numbers for the C/S/M server, or router may hang.
2. VPN client can't connect using Virtual Address. Should disable and set to 0.0.0.0.

V. To Upgrade

Before upgrading, write down all the configuration information you changed from the defaults. You may need to reenter them later.

1. Download a convenient place such as your desktop.

2. Using a browser, login to the router as admin.
3. Under Management, click Router Upgrade.
4. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file you just downloaded fvs124g_v1_1_30.img.
5. Click Upload.
6. Wait for the router to reboot and the TEST LED to turn off.
7. Power the router off.
8. Power the router back on again.

   For problems after upgrading, clear the configuration, using the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel, or the Erase button in the Backup Settings menu. Then reenter your configuration information manually.
