I. Overview

This describes bug fixes in the FVS124G Release Version 1.1.24 software added since Release Version 1.1.9. Released October 10, 2005.

II. Bug Fixes

Version 1.1.24

    1. DynDNS password now accepts additional special characters.
    2. Restoring configuration file will now automatically trigger reboot.
    3. Fixed: WAN Options Uplink Bandwidth setting lost after reboot.
    4. Fixed: Custom Services priority settings lost after reboot.
    5. Custom Service should not be deleted if it is in use in the rules or protocol binding.

Version 1.1.23

    1. Fixed: cannot ping to this router's LAN IP address from remote PC over VPN tunnel.
    2. Fixed MTU size setting problems.
    3. Fixed problems with some VoIP adapters.
    4. ISP login name now accepts at least 60 characters.
    5. Fixed memory leak and driver issue causing router lockups.
    6. Fixed saving of protocol binding settings.
    7. Arp scan is removed. Groups and Hosts menu response improved.
    8. BigPond fixes.
    9. WAN Mode menu: added Dedicated Broadband selection to disable WAN active testing.

III. Known Issues

  1. Only 31 characters of the ISP login name are displayed in the GUI, although 63 are stored.
  2. VPN client can't connect using Virtual Address. Should disable and set to 0.0.0.0.
  3. Cannot ping over VPN tunnel from Diagnostics menu.

IV. To Upgrade

Before upgrading, write down all the configuration information you changed from the defaults. You may need to reenter them later.

  1. Download to a convenient place such as your desktop.

  2. Using a browser, login to the router as admin.
  3. Under Management, click Router Upgrade.
  4. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file you just downloaded fvs124g_v1.1.22.img.
  5. Click Upload.
  6. Wait for the router to reboot and the TEST LED to turn off.
  7. Power the router off.
  8. Power the router back on again.

    For problems after upgrading, clear the configuration, using the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel, or the Erase button in the Backup Settings menu. Then reenter your configuration information manually.
