FM114P ProSafe™ Firewall Version 1.5 Release 14

This describes enhancements and bug fixes incorporated in the release software version 1.5 Release 14. The enhancements and fixes are those added since software release version 1.4 Release 26.

NOTE: If upgrading from a version older than v1.3, you must first upgrade to v1.3, then to this release.

NOTE: You MUST clear the configuration after upgrading (either by using the default button on the rear panel or the Erase button in the Backup Settings menu) and re-enter your configuration information manually.

New Features Overview

Release version 1.5r12

  • DynDNS automatically updates after 28 days with no address change.
  • In email page, can now send email notification of WAN IP change.

Release version 1.5r09

  • Support for Mail Servers Requiring Authentication.
  • Support for Additional Dynamic DNS Providers.
    [ TZO.com and Oray (China) services added ].
  • Support for PPPoE with static IP address.

  14. Supports 32 MAC addresses in wireless access control list (was 20).
  15. Diagnostics menu can now ping an IP address ending with 255.
  16. Fixed: Restoring config did not accurately reload the services table.
  17. Sends NTP request when WAN IP changes.
  18. Fixed: When TCP server and TCP client close the session simultaneously, "ack" the fin packet correctly.

Beta version 1506

  1. Fixed: DNS cache caused LAN PC to get old IP for updated domain name.
  2. Fixed: when "log always" selected, device only record the first policy's matching result.
  3. Fixed: device getting time log will display duplicated week-day.
  4. Fixed: when "NONE" selected on log email send page, log still sent when log is full.
  5. Fixed: device records all packets even if "all incoming/outgoing" are not selected.
  6. Fixed: MSN file transfer fail between v5 & v6.
  7. Fixed: User defined MTU cannot be saved.
  8. Fixed: change password will get a "login fail, password error" log.
  9. Added check that user defined service name should not contain "()&" characters.
  10. Improved upgrade code.
  11. Fixed: if refresh a website several times, device will think it is an attack and will block this PC.
  12. Fixed: NULL URL will cause device hangup.
  13. Fixed: if ping packet length longer than 1199 will get "request time out".

Resolving Known Issues

  • Logging is very verbose by default. As this may affect performance, you may want to turn off logging of items that are not of interest.

Upgrading to the New Software

NOTE: You MUST clear the configuration after upgrading (either by using the default button on the rear panel or the Erase button in the Backup Settings menu) and re-enter your configuration information manually. Please write down all of your configuration information before upgrading.

 

To Upgrade

  1. Download the upgrade file from the link below to a convenient place such as your desktop.

  2. Using a browser, login to the router as admin.
  3. Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade.
  4. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file fm114p_1514.img.
  5. Click Upload.
  6. Wait for the router to reboot and the TEST LED to turn off.
  7. Under Maintenance, click Settings Backup, then click Erase.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Manually enter your configuration information.

NOTE: For problems after upgrade, clear the old configuration by pressing the Factory Defaults pushbutton on the rear panel until the Test LED blinks (about 10 seconds). Then reenter your configuration information manually. Before upgrading from an earlier version, write down all of your configuration information.
