GS724T Smart Switch Software Release Notes Software Version 1.2.3

Note: This GS724T firmware version (or any earlier version) must be upgraded using the Smartwizard Discovery utility, version 2.05.03 or earlier. After this upgrade, any version of Smartwizard Discovery utility can be used.

Problems Fixed by this Release

• When using a multicase application such as Ghost, network performance may have been slow.
• Broadcast traffic was spread across the VLAN boundary.

Feature Added in 1.2.2

• Jumbo frame support.

To Install

1.The Smartwizard Discovery utility must be installed on the computer where the firmware upgrade is going to be run. If it is not on the computer, install it now from the Smart switch resource CD.
2. Download the new firmware and store it in a convient folder on the computer (e.g., \download).
3. Start Smartwizard Discovery utility. The GS724T is listed on the Device List window. (Make sure the computer is on the same subnet as the GS724T.)
4. Highlight GS724T and click Firmware Upgrade.
5. Click Browse and select the new firmware saved in Step 2.
6. Enter the GS724T’s password in the Upgrade Password box.
7. Click Apply.
8. Click Start Upgrade.
9. At the end of upgrade, the utility reports successful completion.
