NETGEAR FWG114P ProSafe Wireless “G” Firewall/Print Server

Firmware Version 2.0 Release 10

Published May 4, 2004

This note describes bug fixes incorporated in FWG114P software release Version 2.0 Release 10. The enhancements and fixes are those added since Version 2.0 Release 06.

Modifications and Bug Fixes

  1. A problem where in autorollover mode the modem would dial even though the broadband port was still active has been fixed
  2. After a factory reset, the new default for VPN passthrough is enabled. Previously the default was disabled
  3. Preshared key in VPN IKE policy now hidden, no longer displayed as text
  4. Rules now support WAN IP addresses ending in 255
  5. Fixed logging problems resulting from moving inbound/outbound rules
  6. Fixed a problem working with Cuseeme
  7. Fixed problem with diagnostic page ping function so it now works in NAT-off mode
  8. Fixed problem where when email enabled, email would be sent when the log was full even if “Send logs according to this schedule” was set to “None”
  9. Fixed a problem where the FVS328 would not route if the DHCP assigned WAN IP was the same IP as the gateway (for example working with the DM602)
  10. DHCP force/renew now supported (for example working with DM602)
  11. Fixed various problems with buttons not functioning with Safari 1.1 (v100)
  12. Fixed Services range to include ports 1..65535
  13. Fixed issues with various printers
  14. Updated the VPN status page

Known Issues

  1. Serial line auto-rollover is not available with NAT off. Please use the FWG114P in NAT mode if the auto-rollover function is desired
  2. If you experience difficulty in printing out the last page, select 'LPR byte counting enabled' in the printer port properties. This is a known limitation in remote printing on a network
  3. On the new VPN status page, the “Drop” button is sometimes grayed out when it shouldn’t be
  4. When email notification is enabled, the hourly and daily settings under “Send logs according to this schedule” don’t work, but send when full works
