Product Safety Information for the NETGEAR Wall Plugged Ethernet Bridge XE102

This information applies only to the North American market. Other countries are unaffected.

NETGEAR Inc., has recently been made aware of a condition where the plastic casing associated with the XE102 Wall Plug Ethernet Bridge could become detached, thus exposing the consumer to energized components (i.e., presenting a potential for electrical shock). There have been no reports of personal injury or property damage associated with this condition. In an effort to take every precaution, NETGEAR has volunteered to undertake a recall of the units and has worked with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to inform you of the condition. This recall action provides a remedy for the condition.

From the consumer perspective, a retrofit kit has been developed to ensure adequate long-term bonding of the casing halves. This action will involve application of two safety-adhesive strips to each unit.
