Intel Centrino in HP, IBM, and Dell computers with other NETGEAR equipment

Centrino is an Intel brand name for a technology that's commonly used in laptops by the Hewlett-Packard (HP), IBM and Dell companies. Centrino technology works with NETGEAR routers and other wireless products.

To be "Centrino" a laptop has:

  • An advanced Intel processor
  • An advanced Intel chipset
  • An Intel wireless network card

Since none of these are made by NETGEAR, troubleshooting and support for Centrino laptops is generally a problem for the manufacturer. I.e., HP, IBM or Dell.

These security features may require you to use the latest Centrino drivers. For the latest drivers and software, check with the manufacturer, not with NETGEAR.

  • WEP passphrase
