Using the ME103 Antenna So It Complies with Specifications, Regulations, and Safe Useage

Configuring the ME103 With NETGEAR Antennas, Cables, Booster, and Injector in the USA

This describes how the ME103 is connected to NETGEAR wireless accessories so it complies with specifications, regulations, and safe usage. In order to comply with the US FCC regulations you must use the configurations in the table below, as well as follow all the instructions under "Important Notices".

Important Notices

  1. There must be one antenna on each PRIMARY and SECONDARY RF ports. Neither can be left open.
  2. Any combination of PRIMARY and SECONDARY connection as listed in the table below with a "Yes" is permitted. No other combination is permitted.
  3. According to FCC regulations, only the components listed below are approved for use with the ME103. It is not
permitted to change the antenna cable, or the antenna, or the booster, or the injector.
  4. Regarding the starred (*) cases below, when using ANT24D18 with ANT24BNA — as explained in the ANT24D18 User Guide — in order to comply with FCC maximum emission limits:
    • This combination is permitted for point-to-point bridging application only.
    • Both booster and antenna must be fixed. That is, they cannot be on a moving platform such as a car or boat.
    • Human proximity shall be at least 20 inches (50cm) away from the antenna.

RF power is transmitted ONLY from PRIMARY RF port with ME103’s current firmware. Therefore when the
bidirectional booster is connected to SECONDARY RF port, it functions and amplifies only in receive mode.

The table below shows interesting configurations. Configurations combine any of these pairs of two rows: A and 1, B and 2, C and 2, C and 3, D and 1, D and 5, E and 5, F and 1, F and 6, G and 7, H and 2, H and 8, I and 1, or I and 9.
