Windows XP Service Pack 2 may cause firewalls and other software to behave differently. This is a critical security upgrade, however some reviewers are recommending not to upgrade until issues are resolved. ZDNet Review.

Adapter Utilities

The NETGEAR utility may not not work on various wireless adapters, however the Windows utility can still be used.

MA111(v1) Wireless USB Adapter

MA111 users use this fix. (This is not for MA111v2 ! )

ME101 and WGE101 Wireless Ethernet Bridge Utilities

The utilities for these products may have problems if the software firewall is enabled. Disable the Microsoft firewall.

MP101 Digital Music Player

To get a fix, select the most recent download on the MP101 Product page.

WG111(v1) and WG111v2

The problem is resolved with this fix. (Not recommended for Windows ME).

WG311v2

The problem is resolved with this fix.

WG311T

To get a fix, select the most recent download on the WG311T Product page.

WG511(v1) and WG511v2

See the downloads linked to the WG511 Product page. Once there, select whether you have v1 or v2, and select the most recent firmware from the downloads.

Print Server Utility and Windows Firewall Problem

If you have a PS101, PS111W, PS101, PS104, PS105, PS110, PS111W or PS113, download the latest setup wizard.

If you have a PS121, Setup Wizard.

Please do NOT contact NETGEAR for other Service Pack 2 issues. At the moment there are no other confirmed incompatibilities with NETGEAR products.

If you are using a software firewall, go to the firewall manufacturer's Web site and get updates for Service Pack 2. Some firewall companies are:
