The Adapter is Running. How Do I Know if There's an Internet Connection?

Look in the adapter's Wireless Assistant status bar. If it says "Internet Connected", then you have a connection.

 

How Do I Know if the Adapter Knows My Router's IP Address?

Look in the adapter's Wireless Assistant status bar. If it says "x.x.x.x - IP address", then the IP is known.

When connected to the Internet, this message is replaced by "Internet Connected", as explained above.

 

Windows XP Users Who Want to Use XP's Wireless Configuration Utility

If you'd rather use Windows' wireless configuration utility instead of NETGEAR's, simply answer the question about it during installation. If you've already done the installation, check Control Panel > Network Connections > Wireless Network Connection > Properties > Wireless Networks > "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".

 

Removing the WGT311 Software and Utility

  1. Click Start > Run > Control Panel > NETGEAR Wireless Adapter WG311T > Change / Remove.
  2. Follow the instructions to complete the removal.
 

Why Does the Utility Ask to Save Settings When Exiting?

You have made changes to the configuratation that have not yet been saved.
