How Do I Register NETGEAR Products?

How Do I Register NETGEAR Products?

NETGEAR products are registered by selecting the "Registration" link on the Customer Service site. (Or click here.)

Why Should I Register?

By registering, you have access to your customer information, including:

  • Case History
  • Registered Products
  • Contact information (you can update this, as well, if your contact information changes)
  • Other pending enhancements

You can also submit online cases and check RMA status from your user portal.

What is the Registration Information Used For?

Registration information is used to assist supporting you, as well as for consumer demographics.

By registering all of your NETGEAR products, technical support will have good insight into how you plan your network to function. This allows for faster troubleshooting and diagnosis. This can also help if you need of presales assistance. Registering also activates your 90-day free phone support, and validates hardware warranty if you were to need a replacement product.

Registration lets you submit online questions and lets you see your pending cases.

NETGEAR also uses information provided in registration for the purpose of looking at who our customer is and what are they looking for as far as networking. NETGEAR strives to satisfy our customers by providing new and updated products. We would like to keep our customers in the forefront of technology. By looking at who our customers are and how they are growing their networks, we can better assess future needs.

If I Return a Product, Can I Remove it from the Registered Information?

Yes. Send email to customer.service@netgear.com with the subject: Remove Registered Product.

Include the product number as well as the SN (Serial Number).

Can I Transfer the Registration to Another Person?

Yes. Send email to customer.service@netgear.com with the subject: Transfer Registration.

Information to Include:

  • Product name
  • Product SN (Serial Number)

If the new owner is not registered, or if you don't know whether they're registered, add:

  • First and last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Warranties are from ORIGINAL purchase date.

The new owner may use whatever is left of the free 90-day support, from the date the product was FIRST purchased.

The new owner DOES NOT get a 90-day extension on Support.

Why Does it Say the Serial Number is Already Used?

What if I Make a Mistake Entering the Serial Number?

  • Product name
  • Product SN (Serial Number)
  • Your customer number, if you are already a registered NETGEAR customer.
