MA401 Cannot Connect to Cisco Access Point When WEP is Enabled

Question

MA401 Cannot Connect to Cisco Access Point When WEP is Enabled

Answer

MA401 default authentication type is share key while Cisco access point's default authentication type is open. MA401 does not support changing of authentication type in this version of software. Therefore, share key authentication type must first be enabled on the Cisco access point.

Another problem is that Cisco WEP only accepts Hexadecimal key and the MA401 accepts the "Passphrase Method" and "Hexadecimal Method". The simplest way to get two products to work together is to choose Hexadecimal keys on the MA401, since that method is common to both. The card should work with the Cisco access point if these guidelines are followed.
